why human rights matter and why some governments think they don't
Human rights matter because all humans matter. Some country leaders believe that certain humans are not entitled to the same rights as others. Country leaders often exclude minorities. Many heads of state exclude women in human rights. They are not given the same rights as men. Leaders that believe some people are not entitled to the same rights are generally influenced by something such as their religion, nationality, or ethnicity. In the case of leaders in the middle east, they are influenced by their religion and nationality. They believe women should stay at home most of the time and always be covered by a burka when out in public. Many middle eastern leaders are often influenced by their culture. In the middle east it is looked down upon to do anything that would be considered "western". The examples I gave were about the middle east but culture, religion, nationality, ethnicity, and region all influence the rights people are given.
